Information We Collect
We collect information when you create an account, upload content, check in at a track, or interact with the DirtPass app. The types of personal data we collect may include:
Name, email address, and profile photo
Account Information: Your name, date of birth, gender, email address, and profile photo.
Vehicle Information: Details about your bike and garage, such as make, model, and service logs, which you voluntarily provide.
Location Data:
Precise Location: When you use features like "check-in" to a track, we collect your precise geographic location (latitude and longitude with three or more decimal places) to verify your presence and enable location-based features within the app. This requires your explicit consent through your device's operating system permissions.
Coarse Location: We may also collect your approximate (coarse) location, which is a lower resolution than precise coordinates (e.g., within a few kilometers or a city/region). This is used to display nearby tracks, events, or general content relevant to your area without pinpointing your exact spot. This also requires your explicit consent through your device's operating system permissions.
User Content: Photos, videos, messages, comments, and other content you upload or post within the app.
Content Metadata & Attributes: When you upload photos or videos, we may automatically extract certain attributes or metadata from the content itself. This could include, for example, identifying objects (like types of bikes or gear brands) within the images/videos, which helps us provide relevant features, categorize content, and improve our services, including personalized recommendations and advertising insights as described below. This data is not used to identify you personally outside of your account.
Usage Data & Identifiers: Information about how you interact with the app, including:
Product Interaction: App launches, taps, clicks, scrolling information, and other data about your activity within the app.
Performance Data: Data about the app's performance, such as crash logs, diagnostics, and energy use, to help us identify and fix bugs and improve stability.
Device Information: Information about your device, such as device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers (e.g., Device ID), and advertising identifiers (e.g., IDFA), which helps us understand device compatibility, deliver personalized experiences, and measure advertising effectiveness.
User Identifier: An internal user ID assigned to your account for app functionality and personalization.
Search History: Information about searches performed within the app.
Self-correction: Review your actual app to ensure "Device and Usage Information" covers everything collected (e.g., if you show ads, you'll also collect "Advertising Data").
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to provide the best possible experience on DirtPass, including:
Core App Functionality: To enable core features such as track check-ins (using precise location data), managing your garage and service logs, and facilitating social interactions within your feed and community.
Personalization: To personalize your experience, including helping you discover relevant tracks, content, and users, and providing tailored recommendations.
Communication: To send you important updates, maintenance reminders, event alerts, and other notifications related to your account or app usage.
Analytics & Improvement: To understand how users interact with our app, monitor performance, diagnose issues, and improve the overall app experience and design.
Marketing & Advertising: To serve you relevant promotions, advertisements, or content based on your riding behavior, interests, and activity within the app, including insights derived from uploaded content attributes.
Safety & Moderation: To monitor user-generated content for compliance with our Terms of Service and community guidelines, and to ensure a safe and respectful environment for all users. This includes detecting and addressing objectionable content or abusive behavior.
Legal & Compliance: To comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
Data Security
We use industry-standard encryption and best practices to protect your data. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We work hard to protect your info but cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data Deletion
We retain personal data for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, including for the provision of our services, compliance with legal obligations, resolution of disputes, and enforcement of our agreements.
Your Right to Data Deletion:
If you have created an account with DirtPass, you have the right to delete your account and all associated personal data.
In-App Account Deletion: We provide a straightforward option within the DirtPass app settings to initiate the deletion of your account.
What is Deleted: When you delete your account, all personal data associated with your account, including your profile information, vehicle details, precise and coarse location history (e.g., check-ins), uploaded photos/videos, messages, comments, usage data, and device identifiers, will be permanently removed from our systems.
Exceptions to Deletion: Please note that we may retain certain data if we are legally obligated to do so (e.g., for tax, legal, or regulatory purposes) or if it is necessary for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention or maintaining the security of our services. In such cases, this data will be retained for the minimum period required and will not be linked to your deleted account.
User-Generated Content: Any user-generated content you have posted (such as photos, videos, messages, or comments) will also be deleted from our systems upon account deletion.
Process and Timeline: We aim to process deletion requests promptly. If the deletion process will take additional time due to technical or legal requirements, we will inform you. You will receive a confirmation once your account and data have been successfully deleted.
Contact for Deletion: If you encounter any issues or have questions regarding account or data deletion, you can contact us at support@dirtpass.com.
